If you think that you missed all the January deadlines think again! Here’s a roundup of artist grants, residencies, and exhibitions to apply for.


Artist Grant

Deadline: Quarterly throughout the year. The deadline for the current grant cycle is April 15, 2022.

Susainable Arts Foundation

Deadline: February 25, 2022

To be eligible, the applicant must have at least one child under the age of 18. 

The Lillian Orlowsky and William Freed Grant

Deadline: Applications due Friday, April 1, 2022 at 5pm EST.

The Awesome Foundation

Deadline: Ongoing.


Awakening 2022 – Toronto Island, Ontario

Program Dates: June 20 – 27, 2022
Submission Deadline: April 3, 2022
Cost:  $875.75 for private bedroom, shared studio and includes HST and facilitator’s fee

Sumac Project – Toronto area

Applications considered 3 times a year

Webb School, Knoxville, TN

Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program – Roswell, NM


A stipend of $1100 per month is offered along with $100 for a spouse/partner living with the grantee. An additional $100 stipend for each child living with the grantee is provided by the Sustainable Arts Foundation.

An additional stipend of $250 per month for artists’ materials has been generously provided by the Fredrick Hammersley Foundation.

Alpena Wildlife Sanctuary – Michigan

2023 Changing Climate Residency – Santa Fe, NM

Verdant Heart – Sacramento, CA

Deadline: 2/23/2022

“Green fingers are an extension of a verdant heart.” (Russell Page). In this positive sense, within our workplace environment, it means that you have brought in with you an aura of buoyant and cheerful energy. This is happening because you are glowing with the green shoots of life in your core – your heart.

Portals and Portholes – Clifton Springs, NY

Exhibition Dates: April 16, 2022 -May 26, 2022

Submission Deadline: February 26, 2022

A national juried exhibition open to all media. The themes of artwork submitted will deal with the notion of looking into or out of something—whether literal or metaphorical. This exhibition is open to all U.S. residents at least 18 years of age. This exhibition will take place physically in the gallery and work will be available to preview and purchase in our online gallery shop.

Art Speaks Juried Exhibition – Matthews, Virginia

Submission Deadline: March 1, 2022

This statewide show brings the best of Virginia’s contemporary artists to our small-town gallery on the Chesapeake Bay. We showcase two- and three-dimensional artwork from all Virginia artists

Superfine Art Fair Miami Beach 2022

5th PROUD+ [LGBTQ+ Artists] – San Diego, California

  • Organization: The Studio Door
  • Submission Deadline: May 1, 2022
  • Event Dates: June 4, 2022 – July 30, 2022

PROUD+ is the fifth national exhibition of LGBTQIA+ visual arts running from June 4 – July 30, 2022 at The Studio Door (San Diego, CA). Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual and other related community artists (LGBTQIA+) are encouraged to present contemporary works that celebrate the unique sense of pride that this diverse community has. The Studio Door is seeking artwork that expresses authentic, diverse viewpoints from the LGBTQIA+ experience. Show us what your Pride looks like.

Gallery 263 Exhibition Proposal – Cambridge, MA

Deadline for Submission: Sunday, April 10 at 11:59 PM, 2022

Exhibition Dates: June 9–July 9, 2022

Through our Exhibition Proposal Series (EPS), artists and curators of all experience levels have the opportunity to collaborate with Gallery 263 staff to organize and present polished, self-curated exhibitions in our 700 sq/ft storefront gallery. This series is Gallery 263’s main exhibition program, amounting to three shows annually, and is the only way to be considered for a proposed group or solo exhibition
